Prague “They’ll call you from hygiene, I have a coronavirus.” A phrase few people want to hear. And in many cases, people have no idea what awaits them and how to behave at a given moment. Experts recommend that once someone receives such information, they should arrange themselves to prevent the spread of any infection.
“When a friend called me to say he was positive, I was out with friends. I couldn’t think of anything but to quickly put on the veil, get in the car and go home. I preferred not to go out anymore and I was waiting for information from hygiene, “Nela from Prague told Lidové noviny. Hygiene will acknowledge such a procedure.
But what’s next? The whole tracing, although recently not very good due to the overload of the system, traditionally takes place in such a way that the person informs the hygienists of all the contacts with which he came into contact after the coronavirus infection was detected. The relevant hygiene station then calls the person concerned.
Hygienists say that most contacts can be traced within 48 hours, in the minority there are cases where the stations do not have time to notify some even after 72 hours from reporting a positive result.
“We must confirm the circumstances under which the infected patient came into contact, find out all the details so that we can evaluate how risky the situation was,” described the procedure by Dana Šalamounová, spokeswoman for the Regional Hygiene Station of the Central Bohemian Region.
The quarantine request is not incompetent
If hygienists find that people have not come into close contact and also have drapes, the probability of infection is low and it is not a risky contact that should undergo quarantine. If the person concerned was infected in the immediate vicinity and without protective equipment, the one-way ticket will be quarantined.
The numbers will still grow, but a complete halt to life as in the spring is out of the question, Prymula said |
“As a rule, we teach them to stay at home, isolate themselves from other people, avoid sharing household items, disinfect the bathroom, if it is not separated, after each use, and so on. We will then issue a request for collection, because within five days of the first contact with the infected person must undergo the first testing, and after the end of quarantine, ie the tenth day, there is another collection. If both tests are negative, we will end the quarantine and people can go to work, “Solomon explained the procedure, adding that hygienists only issue a request for free testing and quarantine.
“We often encounter questions about how it may be incapacitated for employers. However, this is exhibited by a general practitioner, with whom everyone must contact and acquaint them with their state of health, “she said.
However, in the current situation, where hygienic stations do not catch up, doctors may, at the request of hygienists, exhibit incapacity, which serves as a request for quarantine. And so people may encounter a situation where a general practitioner automatically exposes them to a disability, even if they have not applied for it. “Hygiene is exposed to hygiene, so it should be right. But if he does not manage, he can ask practitioners to expose patients to an e-incapacity, “said Petr Šonka, chairman of the Association of General Practitioners of the Czech Republic. He added, however, that this did not prevent anyone from working from home and normally taking full pay. He just has to report it to the employer and he will then report the whole matter to the social worker.
Self-reporting over the Internet
In many cases, questions also arise as to why people should take two tests when the first one came out negative, so it seems unnecessary to go to the second one. “The point of the first test is clear. The second must take place because the incubation period of the disease ends, which can manifest itself at any time within ten days, “Solomon responded. If the last test shows that the disease has manifested itself, another cycle occurs for the patient – he reports the contacts with whom he came into contact, and he stays at home again for ten days. “If he no longer experiences symptoms four days after ten days, he is cured and can go to work,” Solomon added.
In addition, from next week, the so-called self-report will apply, but in many cases it already works among people. In practice, a person who has tested positive for covid-19 will fill out a web form with information about their contacts, which could greatly help with tracing and make it easier for hygienists.
