Some musicians from Great Britain have been living in Berlin for a long time, others only recently. Everyone has to face the consequences of Brexit on their life situation and career. Between naturalization, residence permit and reintegration as Europeans with a new Irish passport, they are happy to be active in the Berlin music scene and not isolated as “on the island”. Franziska Buhre spoke to some of them, such as pianist Kit Downes, bassist Roz Macdonald, trombonist Alistair Duncan and bassist James Banner.
