A double from Dusan Vlahovic and another goal from the player brought in from Next Gen give Juventus all three points against Hellas Verona.
The Gialloblu started the match aggressively, and their high pressing caused Motta’s team a lot of trouble in the first quarter of the game – during this time, there was not much happening in front of Montipo’s goal, and on the other side, the alertness of Bremer and Di Gregorio was tested. In the 18th minute, the first accurate shot of the evening was scored – Montipo parried Locatelli’s shot from outside the penalty area for a corner kick. A few moments later, after Vlahović’s header, Savona headed the ball into the net from close range, but he was clearly offside. In the 28th minute, Vlahović opened the scoring with a left-footed shot from outside the penalty area – the Serb received a through pass from Yildiz well, who was then served by Locatelli, who received the ball in the opponent’s half. In the 39th minute it was already 0:2 – Mbangula crossed from the left wing, and after Savona’s header the ball flew in a high arc and confused everyone, including the Hellas goalkeeper.
A few minutes after the resumption of play, Mbangula entered the opponent’s penalty area on the left side, who was cut out by Tchatchoua – the referee indicated the 11th meter without hesitation. Vlahović approached the standing ball, misled Montipo with a run, waited for the goalkeeper to move and confidently struck the other side of the goal. Shortly afterwards, Zanetti made three substitutions, but his players still did not pose a real threat to Juve’s goal, although they managed to keep the ball in the opponent’s half in parts. In the 68th minute, Douglas Luiz appeared on the pitch, and Kalulu made his debut in his new colors shortly afterwards. The hosts had their first shot on target in the 83rd minute, after a mistake by Rouhi, who had been introduced a few minutes earlier – Tengstedt hit Di Gregorio from close range. In the final minutes, Motta introduced the debutant Anghele and captain Danilo, and his players safely carried a high lead to the end.
Juventus have started the league season with two consecutive wins for the first time in five years, which, thanks to the stumbles of the rest of the table, leaves them in the sole lead. The Bianconeri will host Roma on Sunday evening.
