JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Amnesty International released a video and analysis of the atrocities committed by the Myanmar military while dealing with anti-coup protesters.
In this release, Amnesty International said that the Myanmar military had carried out massacres since carrying out the coup on 1 February.
By analyzing evidence from more than 50 videos circulating on social media, Amnesty International confirmed that Myanmar’s military used a systematic strategy used to carry out many of the killings.
“These Myanmar military tactics are out of date, but the killings they carried out have never been sent directly to the world to see them.” Amnesty International’s Director of Crisis Response Joanne Mariner said in a report published on the official website amnesty.org, Thursday (11/3/2021).

“This is not confusion, nor is it that individual officers make bad decisions. This is the order of commanders who do not regret having been involved in crimes against humanity, deploying their troops and killing methods in the open,” Mariner added.
Violence carried out by the Myanmar military has indeed been carried out for years, not only when dealing with demonstrators now.
