Helicopter crash in Verdal – NRK Trøndelag

This was confirmed by the police in a press release at 12 noon. Relatives have been notified.

– A person is considered seriously injured and on the way to the hospital. Also, there was a dog in the helicopter that is alive, group leader Stig Viken tells NRK.

It was at 10:42 am that police received news that a helicopter had crashed in an inland area just outside the center of Verdal.

– There will now be investigations by the Air Accident Investigation Board and police crime technicians.

Follow the situation closely

It is not known what caused the accident. The helicopter took off from Verdal.

The mayor of the municipality says he is following the situation closely.

– We have activated the psychosocial team we have that will assist in the debriefing of the people involved and in the care of relatives, says Mayor Pål Sverre Fikse in NRK.

Rescue arrived promptly on the spot.

Dense fog

There was thick fog in the area when the helicopter fell. The fog lifted quickly after the crash.

According to Flight Radar, the Sar Queen has tried several times to land on the site, without success.

Lornt’s Ole Holan lives in the area and says the weather conditions were very difficult today.

– I saw rescue helicopters hovering over the farm, he says.

Confirm that there is a very dense fog.

We don’t see anything. I have a range of 50 to 70 meters, nothing more.
