After his return to the House, Javier decides to take it aside Helena for a sincere discussion. In the pool, the volleyball player opens his heart to the Brazilian, sharing the reflections gained during the period spent in the Hovel. “That experience helped me understand many things,” he begins, adding in a serious tone: “Even about the two of us.”
Javier begins the speech with some praise addressed to his partner, but at the same time admits: “I didn’t miss you on a sentimental level.” He says he observed Helena with different eyes in the previous days, trying to give those feelings a chance. However, he sincerely acknowledges: “That glimmer of light I saw remained so.”
Helena welcomes his words with calm and serenity. “All right”, he simply comments with a calm smile. Javier, while underlining the value he gives to his company, specifies that physical contact between them will be less present in the future. “I like being with you”, confesses, but reiterates the need to redefine the boundaries of their relationship. The Brazilian appears understanding: “We don’t have to label ourselves,” she observes, acknowledging that she too has taken advantage of the time to reflect.
“I think we knew,” Helena admits, appreciating Javier’s gesture of wanting to clarify the situation. With a hint of regret, he confesses: “Maybe I’m not ready for a relationship.” Helena explains that the wound left by her previous relationship is still open and adds: “It’s better if I’m alone.” With clarity, he recognizes that it would be wrong to seek comfort in someone else just to fill an emotional void, while his heart is still tied to the past.
Despite her melancholy, Helena faces the situation with maturity. “I give a lot of importance to friendships, I don’t want to lose them”, he states, expressing his desire to maintain a peaceful relationship with Javier. With a smile, she reiterates her affection for him: “I keep saying you are decent, proper… and handsome!”. Then, in a sincere tone, he adds: “I’m here for you, let’s talk whenever you want”.
Javier also appears to be on the same wavelength as his partner, closing the dialogue with a simple but significant: “Me too”.
