Summary
Seeing yourself on television is never easy. Especially when we don’t have self-confidence or struggle with certain complexes. It’s probably not Helena Bailly who will say the opposite. The candidate of the last season of the Star Academy, who saw Pierre Garnier crowned winner, indeed made some revelations during his visit.
At the microphone of Purechartsfor the Sonar format as part of Mental Health Information Weeks, she wanted to talk about her complexes and talk about her relationship with images. A relationship that has always been complicated for her.
Helena Bailly and her complicated adolescence
Firstly, Helena Bailly returns to her title Summer Body. A real hit from last summer, this piece denounces the diktats of beauty as our colleagues remind us. A very important theme in the eyes of the Belgian as she wanted to make it known.
“It was a theme that was too important for me and which was very current, in our society, but also very current in my head and in my body. I am in this spirit of defending causes but which speak to me as a female”she confides to Purecharts.
Helena Bailly also admits to having had a difficult adolescence because puberty was “saw on [sa] head” : “dental braces, pimples, very bad acne… That period was very dark for me because I felt like I was going through everything badly”.
The singer had a hard time during the “Star Academy” debriefs
And yet, the Belgian agreed to participate in the Star Academy. A television program, however, in which its image is constantly scrutinized and often criticized. “Making a show is never easy when you have to watch yourself“recognizes the pretty blonde.
His most difficult moments in the program hosted by Nikos Aliagas? Sunday debriefs. “TV is getting bigger. Phew! When people pass me in the street, they say to me: ‘Oh, but you’ve lost weight’. No! Not at all. It’s just that TV is getting bigger”she assures our colleagues.
Helena Bailly admits to having had a lot of difficulty watching herself on television during the debriefs: “Looking at yourself like that every week, it can be quite traumatic. (…) No one sees themselves so much through a screen! Now I know what I look like. Under all its axes”.
However, even if she does not completely validate the image she projects on television, the Belgian does not intend to use the pool table to modify certain elements of her body or her face: “I’m not very into plastic surgery so I won’t be able to change myself! That’s how I am”.
