“Heir of Hezbollah leader is supposed to be dead in airstrike”

According to Xinhua News Agency on the 4th (local time), Israeli public broadcaster Khan reported this, citing high-ranking Israeli government officials. Officials said Safieddin was inside an underground structure that Israel had targeted and bombed, and was unlikely to have survived the attack.

Officials said that a very large bomb called ‘bunker buster’ was used during the bombing. It was previously reported that this bomb was the weapon used by Israel to overthrow Nasrallah.

Israel continues airstrikes against Hezbollah strongholds in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.

Xinhua said that neither Israel nor Hezbollah has yet officially released information about Safieddin’s condition.

Safieddin is Nasrallah’s cousin.
