Heinrich, a resident of Bern who helps Eril’s younger brother Ridwan Kamil’s son on the Aare River

The search for Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz or Eril, the eldest son of the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil, which was lost in the River Aare, Switzerland, still continues. In the middle of the search for Eril, Ridwan Kamil met a resident of Bern, Switzerland, named Heinrich.

Heinrich is a citizen of Bern who helps Eril’s sister, Camillia Laetitia Azzahra (Zara), rising inland from the Aare River, Switzerland. Zara is known at that time to swim with Eril.

Previously, the family said that Eril had rescued Zara and her partner, who had lived in Switzerland for a long time before being swept away by the current and screaming for help. Heinrich is a local resident who helps Zara get to the mainland.

Together with the Mayor of Bern, Alec Van Graffenried, Heinrich also met Ridwan Kamil and his wife, Atalia, on Monday (30/5/2022) local time. During the meeting, Heinrich had a chance to hug Ridwan Kamil.

“Major Graffenried conveyed optimal support in the search for Eril’s brother. On the same occasion, Mr. Ridwan Kamil and Mrs. Atalia also met with Mr. Heinrich, a resident of Bern who at the time of the incident helped assist brother Eril’s sister and her friend to get to the mainland at that time,” wrote the Indonesian Embassy in Bern on its official website, Tuesday (31/5/2022).

Heinrich conveyed his deep sympathy to Ridwan Kamil. Ridwan Kamil also thanked Heinrich for helping Zara.

“Mr. Heinrich also conveys his deep sympathy to Mr. Ridwan Kamil, and receives appreciation and gratitude from Eril’s family,” he said.

Previously, the Indonesian Embassy in Bern received news of Eril’s disappearance in the Aare River, Bern City, Switzerland, on Thursday (26/5) at 11.24 WIB. The search for Eril by the SAR team involved elements of the police, maritime police, and firefighters as pilots drone, and supported by the Government of the Canton of Bern. Intensive search efforts are still ongoing and will continue.
