Last strike in 1994
In 1994, Heineken employees went on strike for several days. Even then, the trade unions and the brewer did not agree during collective bargaining.
For days, the entrance gates of the factories were blocked by trucks, so that beer could no longer be delivered. There was a fear that there would not be enough beer for Queen’s Day, because the strikes took place at the end of April. So Heineken instituted summary proceedings, after which the blockade had to be removed.
If the negotiations do not progress now, FNV plans to stop working for 72 hours after the weekend.
