Security measures have been stepped up in Berlin due to President Zelensky’s visit to Germany. In Berlin’s Tiergarten district, where the presidential residence is located, snipers were posted.
After negotiations between the heads of the two states, Zelensky will be received with military honors by Chancellor Olaf Scholz in the federal chancellery.
Later, they will reportedly fly together to Aachen, where Zelensky will be awarded the Charlemagne Prize.
The plans for Zelensky’s visit became known to the media last week, but officially the program was kept secret until the last minute.
Zelensky for the first time since the beginning of the Russian war of conquest arrived in Berlin on Sunday night, accompanied by fighters.
On Saturday the President of Ukraine visited Italy and the Vatican. After that, a German Air Force aircraft delivered Zelensky to Berlin.
