Heidi Klum and Christian Cowan Catwalk Drama: Nipplegate and Twin Mishaps at Stadium Show

Casting, casting, casting – that was the motto in episode eight of “Germany’s Next Top Model”. In Frankfurt, Heidi Klum (50) gave her models plenty of opportunities to present themselves to well-known customers and land lucrative jobs. Among other things, singer Mike Singer (24) was looking for two models for the video shoot for his latest hit. Once in LA, the models had no time to relax in their luxurious penthouse. On the catwalk at the football stadium, they stumbled across the green grass. In addition to the danger of getting lost, there was also a tripping and nipple alarm.

Dancing and arguing for the video shoot

The casting triad for the models in Frankfurt happened in quick succession. Pop star and teen heartthrob Mike Singer invited the models to the casting for his video shoot for the new single “Million Dollar Baby”. While singer fangirl Fabienne (20) and dance professional Lucas (24) did not qualify in the audition, multi-talented Armin (27) made it to the shortlist. He had previously come out as a dance floor grouch. In round two, he and Mare (22), Xenia (23) and Kadidja (21), Marvin (22) and Grace (24) were supposed to portray an argument scene. Prince Marvin and Xenia danced and argued the best and landed the coveted video job.

“Show us who you are,” was the motto at the casting walk for fashion designer Samuel Gärtner (25). And again Marvin was ahead. In addition to him, Kadidja and professional model Aldin (22) were also allowed to present Gärtner’s creations on the Frankfurt catwalk. And the exciting hunt for modeling jobs continued: The globally sought-after fashion and design magazine “Sleek” was looking for two models for an exclusive shoot. While the striking Maximilian (21) landed his first job, Kadidja struck for the second time. She and Marvin were therefore the winners of Frankfurt.

Penthouse-Zank in L.A.

Palm trees, sun, Hollywood. This time in Los Angeles, the models did not move into a villa, but into a very exclusive penthouse in one of the city’s skyscrapers. The allocation of rooms caused discussions – not for the first time. Lucas and Maximilian fought over the best place to sleep. Jermaine (20) was reminded of his internship in a kindergarten. Some models didn’t seem to have had a good night’s sleep the next day. Heidi’s models met at a football stadium in LA for the fashion show of British designer Christian Cowan (27).

Lawn catwalk as a tripping hazard

As impressive as the atmosphere in the football stadium was, the conditions of the once again decisive walk were equally challenging. Superstars like Beyoncé dress in Christian Cowan’s glam rock-style looks. At the same time, they are often combined with high shoes – also for men. This time the editorial team also saved themselves on a wooden catwalk and instead painted a catwalk on the green stadium lawn. The danger of stumbling was therefore inevitable. Cheerleaders and football players on the right and left of the runway further distracted the models during the already difficult walk.

Xenia’s Nipplegate and the false path of the twins

At the Superbowl final in 2004, singer Janet Jackson (57) caused one of the biggest scandals in recent US TV history. Colleague Justin Timberlake (43) exposed her right breast – involuntarily or not – during a dance routine. The scandal went down in TV history as “Nipplegate.” 20 years later it happened again in a US football stadium. Even if not in front of billions of eyes, millions of ProSieben viewers witnessed it. The usually shy Xenia was skillfully strutting across the football field when a slipped strap on her dress exposed her right breast – like Janet’s. It was airy, says Xenia. And a footballer grinned at her with exaggerated joy. They didn’t fix the speed camera for a while, so the ProSieben graphics had a lot to pixelate.

Things didn’t go much better for the twins Luca and Julian (both 24). The identical Swabians quickly got lost one after the other in the wide stadium area and had to worry about progressing. Running god Marvin, Aldin, Frieder (24), Sara (28) and many others did much better in their extravagant designer pieces. Finally, Heidi and Christian Cowan again let all men and this time also all women into the next round. Heidi’s note: “But don’t get used to it.” And the moral of the story: It never hurts to have a plan and double-sided tape with you.
