Heidenheim with a perfect VBL game day, Leipzig disturbs the party

Berlin The e-athletes from 1. FC Heidenheim confirm their recent strong form: 18 points from two games on the 19th and 20th matchdays mean a perfect matchday yield. In the early duel with league leaders Leipzig, however, it went bankrupt.

It was actually a perfect match day for 1. FC Heidenheim: The second in the South-East Division in the Virtual Bundesliga won both games on match days 19 and 20. Against SSV Jahn Regensburg and SpVgg Greuther Fürth it was 9-0 each on points.

The team from Baden-Württemberg has thus achieved something that only RB Leipzig have previously achieved in this VBL season: a matchday with a perfect score. However, there was no real cheering. In the early top game of the 21st matchday against league leaders RB Leipzig it was a 7-1 defeat on points (0-0; 0-2; 3: 5).

“The Leipziger played super offensively and we got into the game way too late”, summed up Heidenheim professional Serhat “Serhatinho” Öztürk after the 3: 5 bankruptcy in doubles in the FCH Youtube stream. In the table, the Heidenheimers are still in second place with 109 points – 19 points behind Leipzig.

There was also no change at the top of the table in the North-West Division. After a win against Bayer 04 Leverkusen (5: 2 on points) and a draw against Holstein Kiel (4: 4), VfL Bochum are in first place with 102 points – followed by Borussia Mönchengladbach with 91 points.

Bitter for Borussia: After six games without a win, the team has to worry about second place – and the associated qualification for the final tournament of the VBL championship. Only one point separates the team from 1. FC Köln in third place, just three points from the fourth from Wolfsburg.
