Heesen Yachts Unveils Its Largest Steel Superyacht Worth €100 Million

It was certainly not an everyday picture: the superyacht worth about 100 million euros, which sailed from the shipyard in Oss on the water of the Maas on Monday. It is the latest gem of Heesen Yachts, which is delivering its largest steel yacht ever. Reason enough for casual passers-by to quickly pick up the phone and capture the scene.

Sparta, as the 67-meter yacht is called, left the Heesen Yachts shipyard in Oss on Monday morning. Then the journey went over the Maas in the direction of the Hollands Diep. With the trip, the floating palace is tested on the water for the first time.

Such a move is not only exciting for spectators. It can also be quite a nerve-racking operation for the builder himself. For example, things went wrong last year when the Galactica (at that time the largest yacht ever) could not pass under the railway bridge at Hedel.

“He slammed on the brakes.”

On Monday we succeeded, although the necessary measures were taken to be sure. Joost Roeland also saw this, who had pulled his camera to the bridge. “The yacht approached at a considerable speed, but braked heavily shortly before the bridge. Then a measuring stick was taken to check whether it was really going to work. In the end, it was over in a few minutes.”

It is still unclear where the yacht will go now. That may be Rotterdam, where the ship will be completed. For those interested: Sparta is still for sale.
