NAC Breda had to chase, but were initially clearly confused. It wasn’t until the 63rd minute that there was another chance: Elías Már Ómarsson shot wildly wide. Two minutes later, NAC also hit the aluminum. Jan van den Bergh shot against the post from the turn.
Heerenveen woke up to NAC’s chances and eventually decided the match in the 70th minute. Olsson chose not to shoot himself in a promising position, but to put substitute Ion Nicolaescu in position. It wasn’t that easy for the striker then, because there were three defenders around him, but Nicolaescu still found a gap: 3-0.
Köhlert was very close to making it 4-0 and the way he did it must have given coach Van Persie a sense of déjà vu. With a diving header, like Van Persie scored for the Dutch national team against Spain at the 2014 World Cup, the German hit the post.
The 4-0 came in the 85th minute: substitute Ché Nunnely passed the ball to Nicolaescu and the Moldavian had no trouble passing NAC goalkeeper Daniel Bielica from close range.
4-0 was also the final score. With the victory Heerenveen now has four points from three matches.
