Héctor is looking for a family so he doesn’t have to return to the Protectora

His name is Héctor and he was adopted by a family when he was a puppybut a year later she left him at the door of the Protective from Ceuta because they could not take care of him due to an allergy suffered by one of their members.

Allergies, like so many other pretexts, “are only excuses” when, as stated on the association’s Facebook profile, these animals “no longer fit into their lives,” referring to families who adopt animals and return them “as if it were an object.”

Héctor is another victim. After growing up with the love of a home and getting used to human warmth, they now want him to return to a place where there will be nothing similar to what he has already experienced, having to adapt to new circumstances.

This change can cause stress problems and cause an alteration in your behavior, which until now is exemplary considering the change recently experienced.

At the moment, he is in a home with a foster family, but they cannot take care of him for long. It is making his stay and day-to-day life easier until the miracle occurs that a citizen with a big heart and resources can take care of him and save him from his return to the Protectora.

“He doesn’t annoy cats, he enjoys playing with other dogs like a dwarf and he’s not heavy”

“He is insecure, he is having a hard time trusting, but with the love and patience of the foster home he is gaining confidence little by little. It is compatible with cats and children, it also gets along well with dogs. Medium, small size. He can travel,” they share from the shelter. Since October 1 he has been cared for by this nice host family. “The first day he didn’t move from a corner at home, he didn’t eat or relieve himself, nothing. On the second day my son lay down on the floor and the dog came to play with him. Since then he has been a normal dog at home, he behaves great, he doesn’t bite anything, he stays alone for short periods without messing around, and he does all his own things. on the street,” they say from the shelter.

“At the dog park he also enjoys playing with the other dogs like a dwarf. Normal walking still fails him, except at night when no one is there, he walks scared down the street. He pretends to approach people but when they say something to him he runs away,” they add.

After 13 days of living with Héctor, one of the members of this foster home states that, except for his fears, “he is a 10 dog.” “He doesn’t annoy the cats, he can have a meal on a terrace sitting under the table, he isn’t heavy and he barely barks,” say those who take care of him.

The Protectorate regrets that his destiny is to return to it, since if this were to happen “he would have a very bad time because he needs human contact.”

Héctor, in addition to being educated, is a beautiful dog with a whole life ahead of him to brighten a person’s days. new family that can value and love him, offering him a home full of human warmth.

Héctor’s mother, according to reports from the Protectorate at the time of the announcement of his adoption“she is a possible terrier.”
