The concerts will feature both the songs and compositions of the legendary rap group “S’T’A” from Kurt’s first solo album “Pilsētas legendas” and Kurt’s latest album “Laikā”, which this year received the “Zelta Mikrofons” award of Latvian Music Recordings in the category “Hip hop music album” and was recognized as the best hip hop record of the past year.
“This summer in the field of hip-hop music has been full of concerts and emotions, we really want the victory march of hip-hop, sounding at various concert venues throughout Latvia, to continue in the fall as well. I haven’t met my audience at a solo concert for quite some time, so I’m looking forward to seeing you again. The “Laika” concert program will be full of contrasts, both in terms of the content of the songs included in it, the musical sound, and also the guest artists – just like all my creative work, which has already stretched over two decades,” says Kurt about the concert tour.
Kurt’s concerts will be held on September 2 in Jelgava, September 9 in Valmiera, September 17 in Liepāja and October 8 in Riga.
Kurts is one of the pioneers of the Latvian hip hop music genre, alongside well-known domestic rap veterans such as Ozols and Gustavo. The rapper gained wider recognition in the early 2000s with the group “S’T’A”, shaking the music market with the songs “Good boy” and “Views of my city”.
In the fall of 2021, the long-awaited Kurt’s second solo album “Laika” was released, which includes 12 songs.
