Hamburg (dpa / lno) – Heavyweight boxer Victor Faust has fought for his sixth professional victory. The 1.98 meter tall Ukrainian defeated the Venezuelan Wilmer Vasquez unanimously on points in the EC Boxing gym in Hamburg on Saturday evening. The man, whose real name is Viktor Wychrist, showed a controlled fight and always had his rival under control. Promoter Erol Ceylan sees Faust, who won gold among amateurs in 2017 and the European Games two years later, a future world champion. Faust should do the same as the Klitschko brothers from his homeland.
“Those were important laps for Victor. His opponent was clever and put him under pressure. He can take a lot from that,” said Ceylan. Michael Wallisch ensured another success for an EC boxer. The 35-year-old from Munich came to a demolition victory in round six against Knife Didier from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
