Rogelio Arzate, executive president of the National Association of Bus, Truck and Tractor Producers (ANPACT) commented in a conference that the industry sees a “high willingness” on the part of the virtual president Sheibaum Pardo, which is why they are seeking “to have an open, very productive dialogue with the authorities.”
“From the perspective of the plans of the new administration with Dr. Sheinbaum, if we see that she is very aware of the issue of scrapping, she is very aware of the issue of improving the environment, the issue of security, then we see it as positive and we believe that there is a lot of willingness to work on it,” he said.
However, he warned that in the first seven months of 2024, the import of used heavy vehicles from the United States has increased, which is contrary to the policy that the new federal administration seeks to promote.
