There may be landslides on steep slopes and sudden flood waves may occur.
Thunderstorms are also expected in Schaffhausen and Glarus.

Severe storm and closed Axenstrasse in Lucerne
Severe storms are also expected in other areas of Switzerland on Monday. A rockslide threatened the Axenstrasse on Lake Uri between Flüelen and Sisikon UR in the evening. The main road was closed in the area from 8 p.m., as the police and the Federal Roads Office announced on the Alertsuisse alarm app.
Nobody was injured. The road and the bridge there were not damaged. Experts will assess the situation once the weather has calmed down. The canton could not rule out further rockfalls due to the weather conditions. The Axenstrasse is an important access route to the A2 motorway and thus towards the Gotthard road tunnel.
No trains in the Bernese Oberland and A8 closed
At the same time, a heavy thunderstorm in the Bernese Oberland caused traffic to be interrupted. According to Railinfo SBB’s short message service X, rail traffic on the Meiringen-Interlaken Ost route was interrupted until the end of operations. There were also no trains running between Spiez and Interlaken Ost due to storm damage.
According to police reports on X, the A8 motorway between Brienzwiler and Gnoll was also closed in both directions in the evening. The reason was fallen trees. The police closed the main roads between Zweilütschinen and Grindelwald, Kandersteg and Frutigen and between Bönigen and Iseltwald. The cantonal road was impassable between Sörenberg LU and Schüpfheim LU.
