Wuppertal/Krefeld/Dusseldorf After the hottest day of the year so far, with a focus on the west and south of Germany, the heat is slowly moving eastwards. However, there is local severe weather potential in the west and south-west.

From 9:00 p.m., thunderstorms with heavy rain will increasingly move into the region from the south.

During the night of Thursday, these thunderstorm fronts grow together and there is also a lot of heavy rain in some areas.

You also have to reckon with strong to stormy gusts with wind forces of 7 to 8 and small-grain hail.

The storm is expected to last until 10:00 a.m. on July 22.
