The first storms of an announced series of thunderstorms fell on Tuesday lunchtime in the Styrian Joglland and sometimes caused massive flooding: In the village of Ratten, the Feistritz overflowed its banks and turned the B72 into a river bed. An eyewitness who was out in her car tells the STANDARD that the river overflowed within seconds. When she made it out of the car through the passenger door, the water suddenly reached her navel. Streams in St. Kathrein am Hauenstein and Fischbach also led to floods.
