heavy sentences for five drug traffickers

Five men tried before the Grenoble Criminal Court for their involvement in drug trafficking received sentences of up to 10 years in prison, report our colleagues from Dauphiné Liberated.

The heaviest sentence, ten years in prison and a fine of 20,000 euros, was handed down on Monday against a 34-year-old man, suspected of being the head of a Lyon network. His sentence was accompanied by deprivation of civil rights for five years.

His 29-year-old brother was also sentenced to five years’ imprisonment, including a suspended one-year sentence and a 10,000-euro fine. The other three defendants, aged 35 to 36, were sentenced to 3 years in prison, including 18 months suspended, and a 3,000 euros fine.

All were suspected of belonging – like thirteen others already sentenced in November to sentences of 18 months in prison suspended to 10 years in prison – to networks of resale of narcotic products which supplied the agglomerations of Grenoble and Lyon.
