Heavy Rain Warnings Lifted in Seoul’s Southwest and Northwest Regions, Watch Still in Effect

Heavy rain warnings issued in the southwest and northwest regions of Seoul have been lifted. A heavy rain watch is currently in effect for this area.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, as of 8:00 pm today (30th), a heavy rain warning is currently issued only in the Goyang-si area of Gyeonggi-do.

Meanwhile, in some areas of Seoul, heavy rain approaching 80 mm per hour poured, and some ground sections of subway line 1 stopped operating at one time.

According to Korail and Seoul Transportation Corporation, at around 6:50 pm on the same day, Seoul Subway Line 1 Seoul Station and Geumcheon-gu Office Station stopped running in both directions. Regular trains such as KTX and Saemaeul that pass between Yeongdeungpo Station and Guro Station have also stopped operating.

Trains, including Line 1, resumed service around 7:15 p.m. after track safety was confirmed.

In areas where a heavy rain warning has been issued, water may suddenly rise and cause flooding or nearby rivers may overflow, so it is recommended to refrain from going out as much as possible and call 119 for help if necessary.

In addition, since nearby slopes may collapse, in dangerous areas, you should contact the local government to find out how to evacuate in advance.
