“This weekend we are looking at a major weather system that will bring rain, snow and gusty winds that could cause some dangerous problems for New Yorkers, including flooding, travel delays and power outages,” said Governor Kathy Hochul.
Moderate to heavy rain will affect much of New York State starting this Sunday. It is estimated that rainfall could leave 1 to 3 inches in most areas, in some isolated areas up to five inches could be recorded, according to the authorities’ forecast.
In Bergen, Fairfield, Rockland and Westchester counties, they are issuing flood zone watches from this Sunday until Monday morning.
Gusts can reach up to 70 miles per hour in the coastal area of New York, rain is forecast to begin around 1 pm this Sunday and persist for the rest of the day.
