Heavy Rain Alert in Kerala: Yellow Alert in Eight Districts

Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rain is likely in Kerala for the next 48 hours. The Meteorological Center said that the low pressure formed over the Bay of Bengal has become stronger. It is likely to move over Andhra-South Odisha coast as a very low pressure within 24 hours.

Yellow alert has been announced in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod districts. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center has informed that there is a possibility of three to 3.1 meter high waves and storm surge along the Kerala coast from Vizhinjam to Kasaragod.

Fishing has been banned in Kerala, Lakshadweep and Karnataka coasts.
