This information was announced by Eddie Hearn, who is none other than the promoter of Anthony Joshua. During his very last duel against Usyk, which then took place no later than September 26, Joshua had lost, thus also losing all of his many belts, namely those in WBA, IBF but also WBO. That day, the English boxer had already mentioned the possibility of a revenge, against this same opponent, in order to be able to recover his precious goods.
The unification of the world heavyweight title against Fury then?
Words that have therefore been followed up, with this famous activation of a clause, carried out no later than this Saturday. This new meeting could be held in 2022, and more precisely during the month of next March. By losing against the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, the Briton Anthony Joshua had therefore necessarily and also mortgaged all his chances of being able to face his compatriot, namely Tyson Fury. This Saturday, the latter also retained his WBC belt, in the same heavyweight category, with, for the second time in a row, the American Deontay Wilder. For his part, if he managed to regain all of his own belts, namely those in WBA, IBF but also WBO, then Anthony Joshua could then face his compatriot, for the unification of the world title, in this prestigious heavyweight category in boxing.
