The relentless battle for the US presidential election continues.
Former US President Donald Trump called on his successor and potential rival in the next presidential election, Joe Biden, to undergo a test to assess cognitive abilities, reported France Presse, quoted by BTA.
“Maybe that way we’ll be able to see why he makes such terrible decisions,” Trump said on the social network “Trut”.
Joe Biden underwent a medical yesterday, but according to his doctor, he does not need to undergo a cognitive test.
“The president is doing well and this year’s medical examination revealed no new problems,” wrote his doctor, Kevin O’Connor, quoted by the Associated Press. “He continues to be fit for duty and is fully fulfilling all of his duties without any exceptions or deferrals,” he added.
The president responded to Trump’s attacks with an X platform video of the Republican making slips in recent speeches and ordered him to watch the tape.
The physical condition of 81-year-old Biden and 77-year-old Trump has been under scrutiny during this election campaign, AFP notes. If the two win the primaries of both parties, they will be the oldest two primary candidates for the presidency of the United States.
