Heavy downpour in Medellín, Sabaneta, Envigado

A heavy downpour was registered on Monday afternoon in Medellín and municipalities in the south of the Aburrá Valley, such as Sabaneta and Envigado, where several citizens reported the fall of hail.

Through videos and photos on social networks, some users evidenced the magnitude of the storm that surprised many who were lining up at subway stations to get home on time, in view of the curfew that begins at 6 in the afternoon.

This situation again unleashed criticism of the measures taken, since many had difficulties in the matter of transportation. Furthermore, mobility was also affected due to the rains.

In Medellín there was also a strong downpour, which affected the southwest of the city, the township of Altavista and San Cristóbal.

“In Medellin, the rains have spread covering the communes El Poblado, Guayabal and Belén, as well as the townships located to the west. Likewise, the rains persist in the north of Barbosa with high intensity ”, reported the Early Warning System (Siata).

After the downpour, some floods were reported in the municipality of Sabaneta, in the sector known as Calle Larga. The fall of some trees in Envigado was also recorded.
