Heavy collision during illegal tuning meeting: BMW drives into …

Images have surfaced on social media of a serious accident during an illegal tuning meeting at le Lac de l’Eau d’Heure, near the Walloon town of Philippeville. A BMW drove into it head-on on a Porsche, which, according to Sudpresse newspapers, was ready to race.

The accident happened around 10 pm on Friday at the parking lot of Belvédère de N907, near Lac Féronval in Boussu-Lez-Walcourt. Images show how a BMW 1 drives on the road, past hundreds of spectators. About 400 people gathered at the site to watch a number of tuned cars race against each other. However, the BMW 1 does not participate in a race, but drives against a Porsche Cayenne at high speed. An Audi also shares in the blows.

“The event was organized in a Facebook group,” a witness told Sudpresse. “The meeting was organized at a parking lot for jet skis. There were also just as many people because the event had only just started. The race started at 10 p.m., the accident happened at 10:02 p.m..”

Heavier impact

Miraculously, no one was injured in the accident. An agent from the local police zone told RTL that the damage could have been much greater. “With all those spectators here, we could have seen an even heavier impact.”
