A heat wave warning has been issued across the country today, and it will be very hot.

Heat wave warnings have been issued in most areas of the country, including Seoul, the metropolitan area, Daejeon, Gwangju, Daegu, and Busan, and heat advisories have been issued in Gangwon and Jeju.

For the time being, very hot weather is expected to continue with the maximum sensible temperature rising around 35 degrees in most areas of the country.

The Korea Meteorological Administration has predicted that even if there are showers everywhere due to atmospheric instability, the temperature will rise again quickly when the rain stops.

In the hot weather that continues day after day, heat-related illnesses are also appearing one after another.

At around 2 pm yesterday, a man in his 90s died while working in the field in Maseong-myeon, Mungyeong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

″The guardian said that (the deceased) went out there (field) in the morning. So I checked and he was lying there in the bush.”

Over the weekend, four deaths from heat-related illnesses were reported in New Gyeongsangbuk-do alone.

Between the 26th and 29th, there were 255 cases of heat-related illnesses, and 12 people were estimated to have died from heat-related diseases.

Most of the dead were elderly people aged 65 or older, and collapsed while working outside even though a heat wave warning was issued.

″Elderly people are small in size, have many underlying diseases, and dehydration occurs quickly, so they avoid pain or are insensitive to certain symptoms…″

It is best to avoid outdoor activities, but if unavoidable, it is better to wear light clothes and bring a drink.

If symptoms such as dizziness, headache, nausea, loss of appetite, etc. appear, you should immediately rest in a cool place and drink water to recover.
