In February, the federal government decided to grant each household a heating premium of 100 euros. We all know why, energy seems to have gone gold, a 100 euro relief on households’ energy bills is welcome everywhere.
With a few weeks delay it is now happening, that payment of the premium. It is actually not a ‘payment’, the energy suppliers deduct the 100 euros in almost all cases from the advance or settlement invoices of the consumers. It is not the case that the amount is deposited into an account, except in some exceptional cases.
Febeg, the federation of energy suppliers, does ask for some patience: “It makes no sense to call or email your energy supplier to bring forward the settlement of the premium. That will not help, on the contrary. The 100 euros will come. certainly for those who are entitled to it. All this will be settled by the end of July at the latest,” says Febeg’s Stéphane Bocqué.
“If someone has not yet seen a premium, it is best to contact the FPS Economy, they will analyze your file.”
