In a little more than 20 days, the heating oil will be on the market. The decline in the prices of motor fuels, gasoline and diesel, drags down, according to the first indications, the price of heating oil, which will be available from October 15 cheaper compared to the corresponding period last year.
The price for heating oil
If heating oil started to be made available today from gas stations and oil trading companies, according to the estimates of market players, it would have a first price of 1.10 euros per liter.
This is reported by OT sources, noting that with today’s data heating oil will cost 20% cheaper than last year.
It should be noted that on October 15, 2023 heating oil had a starting price of 1.40 euros per liter, according to the Liquid Fuel Price Observatory.
The refineries
As sources note to OT, refineries are expected to determine the disposal price for heating oil a few hours before October 15.
It is not excluded, say the same information, that the large energy groups Helleniq Energy and Motor Oil will proceed with discounts to the oil trading companies – their clients so that the price for heating oil will be set at lower levels.
The weather
“Demand for heating oil is too early to determine”, the same factors report to OT.
As they explain, this will be largely determined by weather conditions. If the weather continues at the same temperatures as now, then consumers are not expected to proceed with orders.
Although, according to sources, the low price compared to last year is a strong lure for the supply of heating oil.
The tax
The Special Consumption Tax for heating oil, as every year, will be decided at 0.280 euros per liter.
From there, the price is built up with VAT, other taxes and fees and margins for oil refining and marketing.
Allowance
As last year, the government is expected to grant a heating allowance to special groups of the population and according to the degree days per region.
