Heather Graham Has had no contact with her parents for 30 years

Sad confession: Actress Heather Graham broke off contact with her parents many years ago. In an interview, the “From Hell” actress spoke about her difficult childhood.
For almost 30 years now, Heather Graham, 54, has no contact with her parents. The actress revealed this in a new interview in which she talked about her unhappy childhood.
Heather Graham says sad words about her childhood
Heather Graham was born in Wisconsin in 1970, the daughter of a teacher and children’s book author and an FBI agent. After landing her first film role at 18, she left home. The “From Hell” actress now admits that she has had no contact with her parents since she was 25. “I stopped speaking to my parents at 25 and became estranged from them,” she admits in the “Wall Street Journal,” quoted by the “Daily Mail.” She goes on to describe her difficult years as a teenager at home: “My home and school were not happy places to grow up… My father, James, was an FBI agent.” Her strict Catholic and apparently arch-conservative father often warned her about Hollywood, she continues: “He regularly told me that the entertainment industry was evil and that Hollywood would take my soul if I became an actress or appeared in anything with sexual content.”
“I never felt like I could talk to them”
“My mother was a primary school teacher,” Heather Graham continues. “My parents belonged to a generation that didn’t believe in therapy or in discussing private matters. So I never felt like I could talk to them.” She can still give credit to her mother for supporting her “creative streak” and her “ambitions as an actress.” Nevertheless, it was a “mixed message” because: “My father was strictly against it and my mother didn’t do much to protect me from him,” says Graham, who has since appeared in a number of films and series and whose younger sister Aimee is also an actress.
At the age of 17, she landed her first major role in the comedy “Daddy’s Cadillac.” After the film came out, it became “more difficult” for her to live at home, she explains. She left her parents’ house and moved into an apartment in West Hollywood. Her career then took off, and she played in “I Love You to Death,” “Twin Peaks,” “Austin Powers,” “From Hell,” “Boogie Nights,” “The Hangover,” and “Californication,” among others.
“I have very good friends”
Heather Graham doesn’t seem to regret that she no longer has contact with her parents. Instead, she relies on her friends and has a close circle of people she can rely on. “My friends are proud of me and I’m proud of myself,” she says. “I have very good friends.” And there is also apparently a man at her side at the moment: The actress has been dating snowboarder John de Neufville since 2022, and the athlete recently posted pictures from their romantic vacation in Italy.
