Heated discussion in closed meeting about catering to politicians

Behind closed doors, Oslo politicians have decided not to scale back the annual Christmas dinner for themselves and former politicians.

The city council secretariat invited group leaders and group leaders to lunch meetings at irregular intervals. According to experts, these meetings should follow the principles of municipal law.

Should the Council Christmas dinner take place as normal? Or should it be scaled down in light of the Aftenposten cases on municipal spending?

These issues were discussed in a closed meeting held in Oslo City Hall in November. The Presidency Christmas Dinner is an annual tradition for current and former full-time politicians in Oslo. They gather in the town hall and a three-course dinner is served.
