Tokyo : 53 people were admitted to the hospital due to sunburn in Tokyo, Japan. The fire service said on Monday that they were taken in for treatment at around 3pm Tokyo time.
According to the fire department, people between 13 and 93 were admitted to the hospital. An 80-year-old woman is in critical condition.
The fire department has urged people to take extreme precautions amid the hot weather, such as drinking water frequently and using air conditioners, amid extreme heat in Japan. .
