NEW YORK – After a weekend of heavy rain and storms, the tri-state area begins the work week with a hot and humid day.
Monday is expected to be sunny with a slight chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, especially in the northwest.
However, Monday was the best day of the week for the beach as there is a high risk of rip currents on the south shore of Long Island.
However, starting Tuesday, there is a chance of storms in the afternoon.
A flash flood watch is already in place for parts of New Jersey for Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning where flash flooding along with damaging wind gusts is possible.
By Thursday, some of Hurricane Debby’s tropical moisture will begin to move into the mid-Atlantic and NE with the potential for some tropical showers to continue through the first half of our weekend.
