Mats Seuntjens appeared emotionally in front of the ESPN camera after the match between Excelsior and RKC Waalwijk. The RKC attacker had a difficult time and was supported during the interview by brother Ralf Seuntjens, who is at the table at ESPN. However, the beautiful conversation is abruptly interrupted by Hugo Borst.

Seuntjens came on against Excelsior and then made the important 1-1. That was also the final result. After his goal, Seuntjens already had some emotions, he admits ESPN. “I was quite emotional, even just in the dressing room. It has just been a quite difficult period, the entire season,” says the attacker, who struggled with injuries and had a difficult six months at FC Utrecht.
“Ralf returns and is on target at De Graafschap, my little one is doing very well with his team: then you just don’t want to be left behind. You want to make your children, brothers and family proud. That made me quite emotional. It was a difficult period, but I am happy that I can feel like a footballer again,” says Seuntjens with wet eyes. Ralf then gets the chance to say something to his brother. “I’m proud of you bro, always.”

Mats is then asked how he expressed his emotions after the match. “It sucks that this stadium is so small, you can’t go anywhere. I’m never emotional in this sense, but this came in somehow. Just put my shirt over my head and sit for a while.” Then Hugo Borst, who is also sitting at the table, breaks in. “Pieter Omtzigt!”, the columnist shouts at Seuntjens, referring to the fact that the NSC faction leader would regularly burst into tears. The RKC attacker reacts in surprise. “What’s he talking about, man?”
