The soccer star and his girlfriend Georgina Rodríguez (28) said in April they had lost a son.
The couple were expecting twins and only the girl survived. In a new part of the chat interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo opens up about the next period.
– Gio (boyfriend) came home, and the kids started saying “where’s the other kid, where’s the other kid?” says Ronaldo, according to The sun.
Ronaldo already has four children. One of them, Alana Martina, joined Rodríguez. His first three children, Cristiano Jr., and twins Eva and Mateo, she got with the help of a surrogate mother.
Now they also have little Bella in the family. Ronaldo says they should name their son Ángel.
According to him, the family has become more united in grief.
– I’ve become friendlier with Gio. Of course I was, but I feel more love for her and my children and I’m starting to see life from a different perspective, explains the Portuguese.
Take care of the ashes
The 37-year-old describes it as the heaviest time he’s had since losing his father.
He says he kept the ashes of both his father and son in a chapel he had built in his home.
– It’s something I want to keep for the rest of my life, and I don’t want to throw it into the ocean or the sea, says Ronaldo.
When the superstar played for Juventus, he got to see a 15-year-old interview TV 2 had done with his father as a guest on a show on UK ITV.
Then Ronaldo was moved to tears.
He barely knew his father. José Dinis Aveiro struggled with alcohol problems and died at the age of 52 in 2005. A year before him, he had met TV 2 and spoke proudly of his 19-year-old son.
