The man took his son to Jeju Island as a tourist on August 14 and stayed in a hotel for a few days. After spending all the travel expenses, he slept on the street. A few days later, the man abandoned his son in a park while he was sleeping. After the son woke up, he couldn’t find his father and cried loudly. He was spotted by a passerby and called the police. The police arrived later and found luggage and a letter in the park. The letter expressed in English an apology to his son, thinking that he was a “failed father.” Due to physical reasons and difficult life, he had to be abandoned.

The police reviewed the surveillance cameras and found the man on August 26, who was arrested and brought to justice. The man admitted that he took care of his son alone after divorcing his wife. He thought that the environment of child welfare institutions in South Korea was better than that in mainland China, so he took his son to South Korea. The child has been handed over to the care of relatives in China and left the country on September 7. .
