Heart and good health for an Alesian Route

Screening tests and conferences, this Saturday, March 19, were on the program of the Parcours du cœur.

Great animation, this Saturday, March 19 in the morning, on the square of the town hall of Alès, on the occasion of the Course of the Heart, organized by the Heart and Health Club. From the outset, one could see the presence of the organizers of the Red Cross who had taken place there for demonstrations of cardiac resuscitation, while inside the room of the Capitol, other interventions took place there.

On the spot, Bernard Villaret, president, for two years, of the Heart and health club of Alès, recalled the stakes of this event: “After two years without external events, due to the pandemic, we are resuming our Parcours du cœur activity this Saturday. It takes place in two ways with, first of all, a cycle of conferences this Saturday morning in the hall du Capitole and in the afternoon an animation made by the club Alès Cévennes Handball, with a sports demonstration on the place of the town hall, and the participation of young schoolchildren.

As for the conferences given at the Capitol, they allowed hearing the advice of cardiologist Florent Broussous, the adapted physical activity instructor, Frédéric Cabourdin, or Michel Iniesta, who showed the benefits of Qi Gong on health.

Tests in the halls

But, in order to give more visibility to this action, it was proposed, during the morning, in the halls of the Abbey, a free screening on the prevention of cardiac risks. “Liberal nurses and student volunteers from Ifsi are present to do screening for diabetes, cholesterol, sedentary lifestyle assessment and risk factors for tobacco, alcohol, stress…”

Following this prognosis, people tested can be informed and directed, depending on the results, to a dedicated site to maintain their shape and maintain their heart through physical exercise. “Besides, adds Bernard Villaretour 150 members of the Heart and Health Club benefit from the various sports activities of walking and swimming that we offer them regularly.”
