Creative Sensemore Air fully wireless earbuds can amplify ambient sound five times (approximately 7dB) more than the earbuds’ normal ambient mode. This allows you to hear your surroundings a lot more, which is nice if you are on a fishing trip, in the woods, or other places where you simply Not he wants to exclude the outside world. You can also have a conversation with someone you meet on the street without having to remove the earphones.
We had an aha experience with this feature when we tested it Sony Linkbuds S, which for SEK 2,000 provides more ambient sound than anyone else in the class. Now Creative will do the same with Sensemore Air, for half the price.
For people with hearing loss?
Creative also mentions that as a bonus, plugs can help people with hearing loss, if you set the effect to full power. However, they are not ISO certified as hearing aids, so you should probably be a little careful with this statement. If you are hard of hearing, go to a specialist and have a hearing aid tried, it is our recommendation.
Earphones have it too plains ambient mode, when you want to listen to music but at the same time be aware of your surroundings. For example, if you are walking or jogging on a busy street.
It also has noise reduction
If you still want to shut out the world, Sensemore Air also has noise reduction.
It doesn’t say how effective the noise reduction is, but you should be able to adjust the intensity in all three modes in the Creative app on mobile.
Four microphones
The earphones are equipped with four microphones: two for filtering background noise in ANC mode and two for voice recording during phone calls.
They have touch buttons that can be assigned different functions via the Creative app.
Long battery life
The charging case is smaller than the rest of Creative’s wireless earbuds, so the Sensemore Air is the more pocket-sized model. However, battery life shouldn’t be an issue.
Namely, Creative claims 10 hours from the earbuds on a single charge, with an additional 25 hours from the charging case. Plus, you get two hours of use with a 10-minute quick charge, and the case can be charged wirelessly with Qi.
Promises good sound
The music is reproduced by 6 mm elements with biocellulose membranes. This is man-made and has a much finer fiber than paper. By stacking several very thin sheets of a few nanometers on top of each other, much better stiffness is achieved than paper membranes.
We are promised a good sound, with detailed harmonics and a balanced midrange, as well as a “booming bass”. You can set equalization in the Creative app if you want to optimize the sound. But with the previous Creative sockets we tested, it only works when using the app for playback. Once you are in a third party music app like Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music or others, you will lose the equalization settings. Hopefully Creative has done something about it this time around.
The earbuds are IPX5 certified, which means they are resistant to rain and sweat and can therefore be used for training, both indoors and outdoors.
SXFI ready
Creative has certified the earphones as “SXFI READY”, which should “give a taste” of Creative’s holographic sound. It means that you will only experience Super X-Fi space holography from the music played by the app and not from third party apps like YouTube, Spotify, etc.
Price and availability
