“Dissecting the⁤ Post-Punk Pivotal: Magnus Bang on the Latest from Sweden’s Sensation, Viagra Boys”

Introduction:

Since their explosive breakthrough‍ with ‘Welding,’‍ Stockholm-based post-punk powerhouses‍ Viagra Boys have been keeping the ⁢flame alive, scorching the‌ landscape of modern rock ‘n’ roll with their provocative lyrics, raw energy,‌ and ⁤distinctive satirical undertone. In advance of their brand new album,⁣ ‘Viagra Boys,’⁤ released under their self-owned label, Shrimptech Enterprises, Magnus Bang—well-known Swedish‌ record producer and member of The Solution—joined us for a candid conversation ‌delving into the new release, their cinematic approach too music videos, ‍and ‌what awaits their army of ‘Dog Treats.’ ⁤Without further ado, here we go!

[World Today News Senior Editor – WTN], Magnus! Firstly, ‌massive respect for taking time to speak to⁤ us amidst finalizing the production of Viagra Boys’ ‌impending album, and, I trust, rehearsing for your US tour this October. I am genuinely thrilled⁤ and ‍grateful.

[magnus Bang – MB] Thank you ‌kindly! I always enjoy these transatlantic talks, WTN. Despite‌ the non-stop pace at the studio, carving out space ⁢for an interchange like⁣ this⁣ remains a treat I‍ can’t skip.

WTN: ⁣Kicking off then at the helm with ‘Viagr Aboys’ scheduled for an April ⁢21st launch — an electrifying new album teaser, “Man Made of Meat,”‌ and ⁢it’s that, what‌ feels a bit, absurdist dance party. What is on your‍ mind currently, both the collective mindset from the Viagra Boys and this single specifically? [I hear laughter on this side… apologies for all the question punches right now!]

MB: (Laughter) Well, when we were huddled brainstorming songs for the next album, my co-coven-members’ minds, namely Sebastian (vocalist, lyricist mastermind) were teeming with images – both from today’s dystopic world, along with snippets of cinematic and societal influences. It got so weird ⁤on a track one day; suddenly ‘Man Made Of Meat’ shot out as something of an anchor for these raw emotions. Really, when this‍ song dropped for us in pre-production, even in a primordial state, everybody was moving! I supposed ‌some would dub ‘Man made…’ an entry point for dissecting our inner conflicts and social woes – both hilariously and somberly, don’t you?

WTN: Speaking on the theme—absurdism⁤ as the‍ bridge carrying listeners to ‌profound revelations⁢ feels so core to your ⁢creative expression—was that more pronounced‌ than say,the reflective,socio-probing “Dog Ends Off” on last year’s “Cave World – and can our readers anticipate exploring similar⁤ emotional currents throughout ’Viagr aboys’ tracklist?

MB: Totally – Cave World showcased aspects of that blend, for instance,on “‘Chewumba,’ with humor as an coping mechanism deployed against personal struggle,to keep moving the story. While on ‘ViagrAboys, ‘MMOM’ starts this thread,’Chasing Moonrats’ offers you another shade within that range as well

Yet it is, to quote seb once again, like when ‘all’s lost but yet, laughter resounds around you — laughter’s healing!’ We really had to tap that to ensure ‘VB’s an engaging record without being ‘solemn‘; instead, making ‍you nod ‍’yeah man, feels bad ⁢but hilarious nonetheless!’ That vibes on a level of ⁣global pain and confusion! I couldn’t pick a ‘track of the album’, given they each deliver ‌something ⁣singular of our mind-cosmos yet complementing.”

WTN: It absolutely resonates well. Transitionally, speaking—”MMoM” pairs⁤ a ‍riot-ish punk number with the ⁤absurdest musical video out these days—depicts Seb ‘showered with ‍rats while sporting, well, it’s all hilarious‌ chaos—a true masterful cinematic complement. Couldn’t resist digging deeper; any other notable production choices made whilst recording and bringing to life our⁤ first musical bite from the looming full-ensemble feast?

MB: As is typical in⁤ Stockholm’s⁣ punk milieu, many videos start out⁢ initially as mere playtime before graduating to‍ grand narrative arcs, adding more meat, you see — so‍ when those rat ‘starlets’ stepped into their own, ⁢there simply wasn’t not adding a thousand extra creatures, could one? on that count, a personal highlight includes “Pyramids of Health'” — our exploration of 4/4⁤ post-punk; we played to its disco-esque backbone! There’ll be other
