A study published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society found that listening to music can help elderly people to sleep better.
Reporting from Healthshots, researchers from the National Cheng Kung University Hospital in Taiwan combined the results of previous studies to understand the effects listening to music on sleep quality elderly people.
Elderly (ages 60 and over) who stay in the house sleep better when they do listening to music for 30 minutes to an hour before going to bed. Quiet music promotes sleep better than rhythmic music.
In order to elderly people this must be listening to music more than four weeks to see the greatest benefits from listening to music.
But why elderly people having trouble sleeping well at night?

Menurut American National Institute on Aging, para elderly people requires seven to nine hours of sleep per night. But research has shown that 40% to 70% elderly people have trouble sleeping, and more than 40% suffer from insomnia, which means they wake up frequently at night or too early.
Sleep problems can make you irritable and stressed easily, can cause memory problems, and can even lead to falls or accidents.
