Cholesterol is still important in the body, but if there is too much cholesterol in the blood, all of this can damage health, especially those related to blood flow to vital organs such as the heart and brain.

Relax, it doesn’t mean that people with high cholesterol can’t eat well. There are several types of healthy food that are good for consumption by people with cholesterol, launched the official website of the Health Service of the Ministry of Health, Friday (21/7), along with the explanation;

1. Fish with healthy fats: People with high cholesterol are advised to eat foods that contain omega-3 fatty acids, for example fish meat. It doesn’t have to just be salmon, which is unaffordable for some people, even mackerel, sardines, mackerel, and tuna are just as good!

Various studies have shown that healthy Omega-3 fats are good for reducing triglyceride levels in the blood, maintaining good cholesterol (HDL) levels, maintaining heart and blood vessel health, and reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, for example heart disease and stroke.

2. Mushrooms: Mushrooms are a choice of side dishes that are suitable as cholesterol-free foods! With a note, mushrooms can be good food for people with high cholesterol as long as there is no mixing of fat-containing ingredients in the preparation or presentation.

3. Know: Cheap and healthy, yes that’s the side dish on this one. One of the processed products from soybeans, if cooked properly, is said to be a good side dish for meat in many dishes.

4. Spinach: This green leafy vegetable is said to be a good food for lowering high cholesterol. Spinach is loaded with lutein, which is a yellow sunlight pigment found in egg yolks and dark green leafy vegetables.

Please note, it is recommended to consume only half a cup of lutein-rich foods (such as spinach) daily to protect the body against heart attacks as it helps the walls of the arteries to release any cholesterol that causes blockages. (okz/pel/d2)
