The Ministry of Health and Population has announced the provision of reproductive health services to 421,886 beneficiaries during the “Knocking on Doors for Family Planning” campaign in Fayoum Governorate, from its launch in mid-October until the first of this December Egypt 2030 .
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, official spokesman of the Ministry of Health and Population, indicated that the knock on doors campaign will continue in Fayoum Governorate till the end of this December, through population coverage work to follow up women and provide services in their homes, users or not of family planning methods, indicating the launch of a campaign to knock Al-Abwab in Assiut Governorate, starting from December 15 until March 2023.
She said the total number of women who got a means during the door-to-door family planning campaign in Fayoum during that period amounted to 138,674 beneficiaries, of which 15,383 got a method for the first time, indicating that 141,942 various family planning funds have been disbursed.
For his part, Dr. Hossam Abbas, head of the population and family planning sector, confirmed that media workshops were held before and during the campaign to announce the campaign and raise public awareness of services and the impact of family planning on people’s health mother, child and family, with the aim of raising awareness of population issues and highlighting the rights and need for reproductive health to achieve sustainable development.
Dr Duaa Muhammad, head of the Central Family Planning Methods Services Department, said the ministry has provided the needs of modern family planning methods such as fourth generation combination pills and third generation mono pills, and others, such as new interventions for the methods, in addition to traditional methods, with the aim of increasing the rate of use of family planning methods to reduce maternal and newborn mortality rates and to preserve the health of mothers and children.
