The Ministry of Health and Population announced that close contact has been confirmed with a case of monkeypox (Mpox), announced on 8 December.
The ministry specified that the injured man is 34 years old, and was in close contact with a person residing in a European country, during his visit to Egypt, and the patient is hospitalized in a hospital which has an agreement with the Ministry of Health and Population. .
The discovery of this case is part of the measures taken in the epidemiological investigations and in the follow-up of close contacts of positive cases, within the national strategy of the Ministry of Health and Population for the preparation for emerging diseases and the sensitivity of the surveillance system National Infectious Diseases Diseases of epidemiological relevance, capable of immediately detecting any case of infectious diseases.
