BANDUNGKOMPAS.com– Following the suspicion that one of the residents of Central Java became a suspect of the virus monkey poxDistrict Government (Pemda) BandungWest Java, has not yet declared its alert regarding the spread of this virus.
Secretary of the Department of Health (Dinkes) Bandung district Wiwiet Widiastuti said that in Bandung Regency there were still no suspicious residents monkeypox virus.
“I don’t think there are people in Bandung Regency who have been exposed to the virus,” he said via text message to Kompas.comThursday (4/8/2022).

Although it has not declared alert, the Bandung Regency Health Office is still anticipating the arrival of the virus.
Considering that the spread of the virus is relatively fast, as happened when Covid-19 and foot and mouth disease (FMD) attacked livestock.
“The name is anticipation. Of course, we will continue to move, in many ways, as well as programs,” he explained.
According to him, residents of Bandung Regency must be aware of the spread of the monkeypox virus.
An understanding of monkeypox is important to start exploring, just like when understanding the Covid-19 virus with its variants.
“One of the early prevention, of course, the community must behave in a clean and healthy life (PHBS) that can at least keep it away,” he explained.

So far, socialization related to the transmission of the virus in any form has been promoted by the Bandung Regency Government.
The community movement (Germas) related to a healthy lifestyle, he said, became the spearhead of anticipation of the arrival of new types of viruses including monkeypox in the Bandung Regency area.
“We continue to increase the socialization of the movement and a healthy lifestyle with Germas,” he said.
Currently, related to the monkeypox virus, his party said that they had only carried out socialization of understanding at the level of Health Workers (Nakes).
“In the past, among the health workers, it was an increase in understanding, because the health workers would later handle it,” he said.
For information, a resident of Central Java became a suspect of monkeypox.

Prior to that, there were already nine suspected monkeypox in Indonesia. Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated that all of them had been confirmed negative.
However, the central government has provided reagent facilities for RT-PCR examinations to detect the virus that causes monkeypox in laboratories throughout Indonesia.
In addition, Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that the monkeypox virus was easier to identify than the Covid-19 virus.
