The approval of public funding for the drugs was achieved after the marketing company accepted the proposal of the Ministry of Health and received the approval of the CIPM, which is made up of four ministries (Health, Industry, Finance and Economy) and the autonomous communities, which take turns every six months and only three have a vote (on this occasion, they are Castilla-La Mancha, Murcia and Aragon).
With the approval of funding for these drugs, patients will be able to receive them without having to assume a cost that can reach 5,500 euros for a 21-day cycle.

New drugs, such as Enhertu and Trodelvy, offer good prospects and years of survival, but the Spanish Health System, until now, did not finance them. So far in 2024, 34,000 new cases of breast cancer have been diagnosed, 5% have started as metastatic breast cancer and 30% will develop into metastasis.
