The Department of Health has vaccinated againsthuman papillomavirus (HPV) about 30,000 minors from the age of twelve in the province of Alicante; figure that rises to 86,000 throughout the Valencian Community, according to data provided by the General Directorate of Public Health on the occasion of the celebration this Monday, March 4, of the international awareness day about this virus.

This vaccine is indicated for prevention of genital warts, precancerous genital lesions (cervical, vulvar and vaginal), precancerous anal lesions, cervical cancer and anal cancer causally related to certain genotypes of the virus.
